Ceramides (pure, 95%)

Ceramides are widely known as highly effective cosmetic ingredients. They not only strengthen the natural lipid barrier of dry and mature skin, but also have an exceptional ability to restore the skin’s moisture balance.
Ceramides are the most important structural elements of the lipid barrier of the skin. They are important for the formation of the lamellar structure of intracellular lipids, which determines the important barrier function. With a damaged lipid barrier (dry and chapped skin), there is an increase in the peeling of the keratinized skin cells on the surface of the skin and the loss of moisture from the deeper layers of the skin. It is the loss of water from the deep layers of the epidermis that affects the functions of cells. Therefore, the breakdown of the lipid barrier also disrupts the physiological functions of the cells, which affect the condition of the entire skin. Ceramides help quickly restore the lipid barrier.
Recommendation: ceramides should always be dissolved in oil before use. They melt at a temperature of about 90-110 °C. The remaining water and oil phases are mixed also at a temperature of 90°C to avoid crystallization of ceramides.
