Bakuchiol is an innovative active ingredient for cosmetics, which is effective in the care of mature skin against signs of aging and acne. Its effect is similar to retinol, but it has less skin irritation and does not cause sensitivity to UV rays. It is a 100% natural ingredient extracted from the seeds of the babchi plant. Studies have shown a positive effect on collagen synthesis, can reduce wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. It has antioxidant properties, so in case of acne, it reduces fat peroxidation and reduces comedones, reduces keratinization and the risk of pimples formation.
Bakuchiol is suitable for all skin types and is recommended as an alternative to retinol for the care of dry and sensitive skin. But it is still better to start with low concentrations. Cosmetics with bakuchiol can be used 2 times a day. In order to achieve an effect similar to retinol, the concentration of bakuchiol must be higher.
