It is one of the components in our skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) that helps retain moisture and protect it from dehydration.
Sodium PCA detected in our skin, helps maintain optimal skin hydration. It has a stronger skin moisturizing effect than glycerin or sorbitol. Compared to hyaluronic acid or collagen, sodium PCA (like glycerin or sorbitol) penetrates deeper into the skin without leaving any film on the skin surface. Provides hydration to the deeper layers of the epidermis. Recommended for dry and dehydrated skin.
Sodium PCA is derived from sugarcane but has also been found in many other plants.
Dosage: 0.5-10%
