Preservative 1388 ECO

The preservative contains the sodium salts of levulinic and anisic acids, the optimal ratio of which ensures excellent broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties against bacteria, yeasts and molds. All the materials used have long-term statistics, so they can be recognized as safe for use in cosmetics. This is a great option and alternative for skin sensitivity to potassium sorbate or sodium benzoate.
The preservative 1388 ECO is miscible with water, so it can easily be incorporated into a cosmetic formula. It does not affect the color or smell of the product. All its components are natural: levulinic acid – from sugar cane, anisic acid – from anise essential oil, glycerin – from soybean oil.
We recommend the following concentrations in products depending on the pH:
pH 3.5 – 1.5%
pH 4.5 – 2.5%
pH 5.5 – 3.0%
pH 6.0 – 4.0%
A preservative can be added to the aqueous phase before homogenization. Solutions can be heated up to 80 °C.
