L-lactic acid is one of the alfa-hydroxy acids (AHA) produced from sugar by fermentation. We recommend adding just a few drops to final products, as they lower their pH and too acidic products can irritate the skin. Its concentration must not exceed 1%. At high concentrations, it stimulates the exfoliation and regeneration of cells in the stratum corneum, and is therefore used in pilings. Has a rejuvenating and lightening effect on the skin. Reduces the comedogenicity of other ingredients and the risk of clogging of pores. Used in anti-acne products, for mature skin, oily and pigmented skin.
An excellent helper to preservatives acting in acidic media as potassium sorbate and preservative SBS for their activation.
Dosage:
for creams for daily use – up to 0.1%
for scrubs, peels and lotions – up to 0.5%
Ingredients: lactic acid, aqua.
