DEET 50% Spray repellent

This repellent contains 50% DEET (full chemical name – N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide) which has been proven effective against a variety of invertebrates, including ticks, flies and mosquitoes. This active ingredient is so popular worldwide that almost half of all products sold (lotions, sprays, liquids and impregnated substances) in the European Union and the US market contain it. Is DEET safe?
According to research by the US Environmental Protection Agency in 2014, DEET is considered not to pose a risk to human health, including children. This is due to the fact that many people use its products for their intended purpose and according to the instructions for use. No toxic effects have been observed after applying DEET to the skin.
