A natural substance obtained by fermentation from cassava or tapioca starch.
L-arginine is an amino acid that naturally occurs in our skin as one of the natural moisturizing factor (NMF) ingredients and helps retain the necessary amount of moisture along with other substances. Soluble in water, it combines well with many cosmetic ingredients and helps maintain natural barrier properties.
Thanks to its alkaline properties, it can be used instead of sodium hydroxide when it is necessary to raise the pH of the product.
L-arginine is important for skin metabolism and participates in the production of substances such as proline and urea, which are important for the restoration of barrier properties.
Dosage: up to 5%.
